A true display of old Barcelona

This wonderful and uniquely renovated apartment is a great choice for your visit to Barcelona. The open plan apartment has been very tastefully decorated in an elegant and simple style, ensuring the comfort of the guest while at the same time creating a welcoming atmosphere. A holiday stay in this exclusive accommodation is one not to be missed.

The area surrounding the apartment:

The Hopper II apartment is situated in the heart of the Borne which is the trendy and upbeat part of the Old Town in Barcelona. It lays right next to the Gothic quarter of Barcelona which is the oldest part of the city. The Barrio Gótico contains a concentration of medieval Gothic buildings only a few blocks northeast of Las Ramblas. It is a maze of interconnecting dark streets linking with squares, and there are plenty of cafés and bars. The apartment itself is close to Paseo del Born which is 50 meters to the amazing gothic church of Santa Maria del Mar, the Picasso Museum, the Cathedral and the port.

The apartment:

The Hopper II apartment building has been renovated to strict rules and guidelines which conserves the historic facade of the ancient gothic quarter. The Hopper II apartment itself is located on the second floor of this lovely building and is one of four apartments in the same building, Hopper I, IV and V.

There is no elevator in this building

, as is quite common in the old part of Barcelona. From the living/dining area you can look down onto Calle Rec, a small street with some great stores and good restaurants. With an open plan layout and some distinct characteristics such as original curved ceilings which are typical in some of our lovely old Catalonian buildings, any guest can relax after a day of adventuring through the narrow cobbled stone lanes of the old town.

The bedroom accommodates a double bed and comes with wardrobe and drawers where the guest can put his belongings. The decor is again simple and elegant with a a fresh and sharp look.

The living room area has a comfortable sofa, TV, DVD and stereo and is a nice area to sit back in and enjoy some quiet time before heading out to the hustle and bustle of Barcelona.

The kitchen has been newly installed and is fully equipped with vitroceramic counter tops, and all the commonplace items like fridge, microwave-oven, pots, pans, coffee machine, fridge and so on. The bathroom comprises of a shower unit and is stylishly decorated with mosaic tiling. The whole apartment is fitted with air conditioning (hot/cold). All linens and towels are provided as well as an iron and ironing board.

Whether you are in Barcelona on business or on vacation, staying at this apartment will make it a memorable visit!

PLEASE NOTE: this lovely, recently refurbished building is typical of the Borne area in Barcelona, as mentioned above there is NO elevator and the low and VERY narrow entrance to the building leads to a narrow and spiral staircase. This is not to say the entrance and staircase is not as nice and of the same high quality as the rest of the building.

The Hopper building comes with a great communal terrace which the guests are welcome to use during their visit...

Born

El Born is one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Barcelona and has become even more so over the last few years, combining a perfect balance between historical treasures, culture and “coolness”; an area very much sought after by the locals as well as the visitors. This area also boasts some of the highest property prices in the city …. This wonderful neighbourhood is full of many great bars, cafes, restaurants and is especially great for one of a kind boutiques as well as other, very well known clothing brands, such as Custo. The Born area is in such a great location, close to the Old Port and the beach, it’s surrounded by all the other cool and interesting places in Barcelona such as Barrio Gotico, Barceloneta, Old Port and Via Laietana. The Park Ciutadella is also a quick 5 minute walk from this area, perfect for a long stroll after a lovely lunch in one of the many terraces the Born has to offer.

A main feature of this great area is the wonderful basilica Santa Maria del Mar, right in front of this magnificent landmark, Barcelona’s guests can enjoy tapas and wine and watch the world go by…Other spots not to miss include Paseo del Born which is full of great bars and makes this area a lively night spot; not far from here is the Picasso museum….. The Born also has it’s own market, Santa Catarina with it’s funky, bright coloured roof. And finally not to be forgotten is the fantastic Palau de la Musica, which is possibly the most dazzling work of modernist architecture present in Barcelona….
