This wonderful apartment located in the heart of the Eixample area is a great choice for your visit to Barcelona.

Located in the Eixample, an area known for it's modernista architecture and considered to be more residential than Ciutat Vella, the Tetuan apartment is a great apartment; not only is it newly refurbished and decorated to the highest standards, it's location makes it a perfect choice for your visit to Barcelona...

The Area surrounding the Apartment;

The Tetuan apartment is located not far from the old city in Barcelona "Ciutat Vella", in what would be considered a more residential area but still within easy access of all areas of interest, like the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas, El Borne and nearest of all, Paseo de Gracia. Not far from the apartment are Plaza de Tetuan and at about a 4 min walk will bring the guest to the imposing modernist Arc de Triomf with its unusual Islamic-style brickwork. The apartment offers a quiet reprive from the bustling and very busy Las Ramblas but is close enough for guests to walk the ten to 15 minutes to where the action is. There is a superb food and produce market called La Boqueria on La Rambla and in a block away begins the fantastic Gothic Quarters and from there the guest can make their way to El Borne and other parts of town...

The Apartment;

This great apartment is located on the first floor of it's building which also comes with elevator..

As the photos above show, this apartment is extremely modern; the Tetuan has been refurbished to the highest standards...

The master bedroom comes with a wonderful

LATEX BED

with three different pillow sizes to ensure all guests will be comfortable while sleeping here.... (this double bed consists of two single beds, with two single mattresses which can and are zipped together to make a great double bed!)here guests will find a large wardrobe where they can store their belongings... the apartment has double glazed windows which makes sleeping in a reality in this great apartment.... the second bedroom also comes with a double bed (again two single beds which are made into one double bed) and the third bedroom bedrooms comes with two single beds ....

There are two bathrooms of this apartment have shower units and come with fresh towels and paper to start the guest off on their holidays... they are fresh and modern in look .. for the guest's convenience there is also a courtesy bathroom, with a toilet and sink only...

The kitchen is ultra modern in a great red colour adding just the necessary splash of colour to the apartment... the kitchen area leads onto the dining/living area, where the guest will find a table and chairs for four and from there the comfortable red sofa (which also doubles as a comfortable sofa bed for guests 3 and 4)..

There are two living room areas in this great apartment; the guest will be able to avail of the TV, DVD and should the guest wish, the DVD also comes with an USB port which allows viewing of video camera (that are compatible) footage and photos...(the guests must bring their own cable) this great apartment also comes with ADSL Wi-Fi, very high speed internet connection with 10 MEGABITES, so guests can send their "wish you were here e-mails" to friends and family...

The apartment comes with AC and heat, to ensure the guest is comfortable all year around;

The Tetuan also has a terrace (15m2) with table and chairs so the guests will be able to enjoy some penedes wine and fuet al fresco....

There are two metro stops in total within easy walking distance from this apartment; the metro stop is called Tetuan and is on the purple line (L2) and the other is called the Arc de Triomf and is on the red line (L1)... the guest can easily make their way to Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, etc.... there is a bus that will take the guest straight to Plaza España which is where the main conference centre is, FIRA de Barcelona...

Eixample (right)

Barcelona´s 19th century Eixample district is the birthplace of the Modernism movement where Antoni Gaudi is considered the leader. When looking to experience Barcelona´s world renowned reputation for leading 19th century architecture, this area is king. With all the Gaudi sites within reach like the grand and impressive famous Sagrada familia, the two famous Gaudi houses of La Perdera and Manzana de la Discordia, the sprawling Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, you´ll spend hours rambling along and looking upwards.  This grid-patterned area was created in the 19th century to accommodate the overflowing population from old Barcelona; luckily this coincided with Barcelona’s golden age of architecture.. Gaudí, Puig I Cadafalch, Domènech I Montaner were employed by the wealthy to build townhouses, each one more daring than the last…

The Eixample district is divided in two, the Eixample Dreta (right side) and Eixample Esquerra (left side), this divide is marked by Passeig de Gracia, a highly sophisticated shopping street…..

A large part of the Eixample’s attraction includes all the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars to be found… Passeig de Gracias alone will keep any visitor entertained for hours, but all the side streets are full of great stores, theatres, cafes with people everywhere, shopping, relaxing and enjoying an aperitif with friends and family…

EIXAMPLE DRETA (RIGHT)

This area of the Eixample came first and is full of fabulous Modernista works, such as Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, Puig I Cadafalch’s Casa Amatller and  Domènech i Muntaner`s Lleó Morera famously referred to as the Manzana de la Discordia…..

To the east of the city centre we can find another massive, towering example of Gaudí’s creativity, the Sagrada Familia; still under construction and will most likely continue to be so for a long time to come … it is full of symbolism and meaning. This amazing creation never disappoints as visitors to Barcelona are awed by it’s imagery and beauty time and time again….

One building which also warrants a mention is the Hospital de Sant Pau, still a functioning hospital to this day and it is probably the most complex example of Modernist architecture….

The Eixmaple dreta is rife with museums such as Fundavió Antoni Tàpies, Museo Egipci de Barcelona and the Fundació Francisco Goddia;

Other buildings of interest include the Palau Macaya, the tiled Mercat de la Concepció, the egg-topped Plaçá de Braus Monumantal and Barcelona’s last active bullring ….
