Dieser Platz – Puerta del Sol – wird als mehr als ‚nur‘ das Zentrum Madrids gesehen: Hier vereinen sich 8 Strassen und offiziell ist dies das Zentrum der Nation. Es ist der Nullkilometer aller Autobahnen und Landstrassen Spaniens, welcher durch eine Steinplatte am Eingang des Postgebäudes markiert wird. Das Postgebäude selbst wurde im Jahr 1766 konstruiert und ist der aktuelle Sitz der Post der Region Madrid. Sein Glockenturm und die Uhr geben jedes Jahr traditionell die 12 Glockenschläge zum neuen Jahr für ganz Spanien.

Fantastic location being right in the heart of old Madrid and amongst all the bars/restaurants. The apartment was as we hoped it would be and just as it was in the website photos (although obviously not quite as brand new). Well equipped with a lovely bathroom and kitchen.
