The Almodovar apartment has a rustic feel to it and it's unique style gives the apartment plenty of character; the decor is dominated by the great mix of colour, high ceilings and wonderful mosaic tiling to be found in many areas of the apartment, the Almodovar is a really great place to stay in.. the guest will find it easy to relax after a hard day of exploring the surrounding medieval area in the heart of Barcelona.

The area surrounding the apartment:

The Almodovar apartment is situated right in the centre of Barcelona, literally 5-7 minutes' walk from the main Square or Plaça called Plaça Catalunya, the famous Las Ramblas, the old town or Gothic Quarter and Borne. The area itself which surrounds the apartment is a body of interconnecting narrow cobble stoned streets where you can wander around aimlessly for hours imagining how it was back in medieval times. The closest point of interest to the apartment is the Palau de la Música which is possibly the most dazzling work of modernist architecture present in Barcelona. This is located a mere 3 mins from the apartment building.

Other areas of interest within walking distance from the apartment are the famous Las Ramblas, the Liceu opera house, the Barcelona City Hall on Plaça Jaume, the grandiose Gothic Cathedral which is one block from the apartment as well as the remains of the old Roman Walls coupled with many more treats from Barcelona's ancient and medieval past.

The apartment:

The Almodovar apartment is located on the first floor (real second) of the building and has NO ELEVATOR, like most other buildings in the Old Town of Barcelona.

The Almodovar has some great features such as the fantastic masaic tiles to be found in some areas of the apartment such as the kitchen and living room. Some other original features include the lovely exposed wooden beams in the ceilings, the lovely wooden doors, the strong red colour throughout the apartment all blending to give a very welcoming feel to this apartment.

The two bedrooms each come with a double bed and ample wardrobe space for the guests belongings.. they are simple in style but are extremely comfortable...

The living room of the Almodovar apartment is lovely, with a big red couch and beautiful mosaic tiles as the main feature of the room the guest will ge able to sit back and chill and make use of the TV and DV that can be found or if they are in the mood they can watch a "flick" projected directly onto one of the living room walls!!!! (Please note that the TV can only be used to watch DVD's)

The kitchen of this great apartment is modern and colourful and comes fully equipped with all the mod cons to ensure the guest has a hassle free visit...

The bathroom is on a par with the rest of the apartment and comes with a shower unit, toilet, sink etc.. there are of course fresh towels ready for use upon arrival..
