Located in Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences, the Oceanogràfic is Europe's largest aquarium and home to 500 species ranging from Artic beluga whales to all kinds of Mediterranean fish, a representative of the world's main marine ecosystems. Oceanogràfic, which is open daily, uses all kinds of modern technology to recreate underwater conditions from around the world to make our slippery friends feel at home and as comfortable as possible.

The Oceanogràfic in Valencia

Thus, each building within the aquarium in Valencia is identified with a certain aquatic environment including the Mediterranean, Wetlands, Temperate and Tropical seas, Oceans, the Antarctic, the Arctic, Islands, and the Red Sea, as well as the Dolphinarium with 25 million litres of water and a depth of 10.5 metres comprising one of the main attractions in the Oceanogràfic. During their route through the various installations visitors can see exotic masked butterfly fish in the Red Sea auditorium, waddling Antarctic penguins, Patagonian sea lions and the friendliest fish there are, the dolphins of course. In addition, they can get to know the the behaviour and way of life of over 45,000 different sea creatures including seals, crustaceans, walruses, jellyfish, starfish, sharks, and turtles, as well as wetland bird species, etc.

Further activities on offer include yoga classes under the sea, exhibitions and feeding the penguins. Finally, if you get a bit peckish there is even an underwater restaurant so you can enjoy a marine life experience then dine underwater in style surrounded by the Oceanogràfic sealife. A perfect family activity and even more enjoyable if you rent a Valencia apartment for a home from home experience!
