City of Arts and Sciences or the ACC, whose design has emerged in the '90s, became the leading destination for visitors. This spectacular fully futuristic architectural space, surrounded by gardens and ponds, covering about 2 km near the eastern end of the Jardines del Turia (former Turia riverbed).

The huge cultural complex that is the City of Arts and Sciences is based on six main buildings.
1.
Hemisfèric: hemispheric IMAX 3D (1998).
Exhibition halls and conference.
2.
Science Museum Príncipe Felipe
(2000): interactive Museum of Science and Technology.
3.
Umbracle (2001): great shadow hanging garden.
4.
Oceanographic
(2003): ocean Park, the largest aquarium in Europe designed by Felix Candella.
5.
Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía
(2005): Palace of Arts of the Opera, concerts, ballet, experimental theater, conferences.
6.
Agora
(2009): Agora Auditorium of 6000 seats (in the final phase of construction).
The color of this unit is white architectural space: white concrete structure covered with a white trencadís (ceramic tile), on a background of blue Mediterranean sky, the contrast enhanced by the strong sunlight of
Valencia.
Also in the same sector, between the Museum of Science and Oceanographic Park in Valencia, the bridge-shaped mast sailing Sawmill which is 150 meters high, and in the final stages of construction of the Agora, an ellipse-shaped auditorium of about 90 meters high. And never stop the madness, currently in draft form, the continuity of the City of Arts and Sciences, a group of three glass skyscrapers that represent the three cities of Valencia: Ciudad de Valencia, Alicante and Castillón. To date, the project is locked.
All these buildings and projects, in addition to the aquarium (Oceanography), designed by Felix Candela, are the work of architect Santiago Calatrava. And if the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is inseparable from the name of the city of Valencia is also the name of its designer Santiago Calatrava, to the point that some like to call the town of Calatrava (Calatrava City) or Better still, Calatravaland. The results are undeniable. The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is spending more than four million visitors a year.
