The Fallas in Valencia is one of the most important events in Europe, between 16th until 19th March Valencia is full tourists from all corners of the world.

It is the cultural Valencian party and the region sets a creative soul and art of Valencia.

During this period, Valencia starts with giant wood and plaster figures in each neighbourhood of the city.

These figures can be up to 15m tall (the same as some buildings) and are surrounded by smaller figures call Ninots.

On 15th March, at midnight the official presentation of the figures takes place. The theme of all figures is normally political and satirical. On 19th March the figures are burnt except the ¨Ninot Indultat¨, that each ¨Fallera Mayor¨decides to keep.

The Fallas are also:

- A big musical party, during this period dozens of free concerts take place.

Valencia has two big concert Venues: Viveros and the Old Turia River.

- The Mascletá´s Party, a large firework show is held every day from 1st until 19th march at 2pm in front of the Town Hall.

- FireWorks  (Castle), with fires starting on 17th and finishing on 18th march (Nit del Foc in Alameda Street and the River, both days at midnight)

During this period public transport is recommended
