The Salón
Internacional Caballo de Pura Raza Española (SICAB) or International Horse Show
is the only fair of its kind and is held in Seville. It is entirely dedicated to Spanish
Purebred horses (PRE), is the most important single-theme trade fair in the
world and brings together the largest number of this breed of horses in one
equestrian event.
The Seville
International Horse Show will be held from the 22nd to the 27th
of November 2011, and will gather thousands of horse breeders, professionals,
specialists and fans of this prominent pureblood horse.
Spanish
Purebred horses are also known as Andalusian horses and consist of the oldest breed
of horses in the world. They are harmoniously proportioned, elegant and
extremely intelligent animals, therefore ideal saddle horses and perfect for
different kinds of training, making them one of the most internationally cherished
horse breeds in the world.
SICAB also
features a range of parallel events including show jumping, competitions, the
national livestock breeders’ championship, classic and country dressage, exhibitions
and shows held in the evening and an equine conference. Meetings and technical
conferences will also be held on specific themes directed mainly at specialists
in the field.
New in for
this year’s International Horse Show 2011 is guest country Argentina, a
country with a longstanding breeding tradition who will occupy one of the best
stands in the show. As well as getting the opportunity to enjoy roasts and
other typical Argentinean products, visitors will be able to see a group of
“gauchos” (loose equivalent to a North American cowboy) during the show daytime
exhibitions with more than 20 criollo horses.
SICAB will
be held a week prior to the Davis Cup Final 2011 between Spain and Argentina,
more than enough reason to make a trip to Seville.
In addition, the Spanish Tennis Federation and the SICAB organisers are in
contact and if possible, will organise a visit of the players from both teams.
