Apartment of the week, the Floresta
The warm
weather has most definitely arrived and the sun has finally appeared through
the parted clouds, which is why we always feel like a few days off in a sunny
paradise, with long beaches and a rich culture. Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, appears to encompass all these
attributes, a good reason for spending a few days there.
With the
good weather comes the celebration of traditional festivities in Mallorca, such
as the Corpus Christi procession, a very
colourful event, that will be taking over the town of Pollença. In addition, there is The “Aguilas”
and “Sant Joan Pelós” festivities, two ancient traditions whereby people dress
up in religious clothing based on catholic celebrations. On the other hand, the
town of Port de Soler hosts their Nuestra Señora de la Victoria religious
festival, one of the most anxiously awaited events by the locals who dress up
as Christians and Moors to celebrate the former’s victory over Turkish pirates
who attacked them in 1501. However, Mallorca has a lot more to offer, and whether
it’s the nightlife, markets or gastronomy, this Balearic Island
is definitely worth a walk along its beaches and the places further inland.
To really

and a toilet. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a dishwasher, washer and
dryer, and the lounge has a flat-screen TV which you can relax in front of
following a hard day on the beach, under the sun by the pool, or on the terrace
which can be accessed through the salon patio doors.
