On the island of Mallorca, markets are part of the daily streetscape. Almost every village on the island has a small market. The daily markets offer different products and often against different rates. When visiting a market, make sure u arrive early, the fresh caught fish and shrimps will be well worth it.
Thousands of people travel weekly across the island to visit specific markets. Both locals and tourists stroll trough the stands to buy the finest local products. Take in account that small village markets mostly start early in the morning and finish around noon. Bigger markets end later and will also have a larger variety of products.
Products sold at the markets are fish, meat, fruit, cheese and vegetables. Also household goods, cloths and craft goods are being sold at the bigger markets. The most products have fixed prices but others differ per season or harvest. Do you have the feeling they ask too much? Negotiating is just part of the deal.
