Madrid hots up during May and June. We’re not talking about the temperature increase (which still hasn’t arrived), but simply the large quantity of parties, exhibitions, concerts and activities that are on offer in the city during these months.
To begin, until the 10th of June the San Isidro celebrations will be taking place in the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas. This is one of the most important bullfighting fairs in the world. For those who prefer your art to come through a lens, from the 21st of May the
14th Week of Short Film will be celebrated. From the 7th to the 10th of June
Madrid Photo 2012 will take place, and from the 6th of June you can take part in
Photo España 2012.
Turning to musical events, on the 25th and 26th of May you can expect the arrival of the metal festival
Sonisphere. Coldplay will be playing in the Vincente Calderón Stadium on the 20th of May. Incidentally, this’ll be the first time the British Band have played a concert in a football stadium in the Spanish capital. The Calderón will fill up once again on the night of the 25th of May, when the final of the Copa del Rey (King’s Cup), between Barça and Athletic de Bilbao, will take place.
