Recently we’ve noticed that marathons and half-marathons are taking place in the most important European capitals whereby the locals steadily make their way through the streets of the city in their eagerness to win and satisfy their competitive side. And, as the capital of Portugal, nothing less could be expected of Lisbon. Thus, now that spring has nearly arrived, the Lisbon Half-Marathon will be taking place on the 20th of March.

From the 5th to the 15th of May the 8th edition of the Lisbon International Independent Film Festival will be celebrated. We are referring to Lisboa'11 comprising an event which combines works of independent cinema from all over the world and that has an array of sections to bring cinema fans and film fanatics some great cinema, some of the most important works of the year, new world cinema, films that go beyond the mainstream, and an array of activities aiming to bring the public closer to the world of cinema including the opportunity to speak to the creators of their favourite films and participate in debates focusing on the world of cinema.

The Belem Cultural Center in Lisbon organizes for its fifth year the CCB Inside Out 2010, the most representative festival in the Portuguese capital. After four years of history, this event has achieved to gather and offer the most complete cultural line-up from Portugal. The Portuguese capital is getting ready for its 4th edition at Parque da Bela Vista on 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 and 30 May. The Spanish capital will host Rock in Rio for the 2nd time at Arganda del Rey’s City of Rock on 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 June 2010
