Science to
enjoy with the family

Since 1995,
Granada has
been home to the Science Park (Parque de las Ciencias), a huge interactive
museum extending over seven hectares which has become one of the city’s largest
attractions. Within these grounds, situated a short distance away from the historic
centre of Granada,
science is something fun.
Light,
sound and gravity, Archimedes’ Principle, the greenhouse effect and movements
of the earth are some of the phenomena that you can learn about in this museum
devoted to science communication, directed at families.
The Science Park
in Granada is divided into different themed
areas, the Biosphere which focuses on our planet and geological and climatic
phenomenon, the Perception Room focusing on light and sound, the Eureka room dedicated to
physics and mechanics, the Planetarium and the Astronomical Observatory, and
finally the Exploration room directed at children aged 3 to 7. The Granada Science Park
also has a pavilion, surrounded by beautiful gardens, where temporary
exhibitions are held. The Observation Tower, standing 37m high, is situated in these
gardens, offering stunning views of the city of Granada.
This completely
interactive science park aims to motivate people to learn and help to better
understand the world we live in.
