´La Historia en su Lugar` is the name of a new series of theatre tours, created by Marisé Monteiro, and that will be taking place in Buenos Aires. These exciting and rather different events will be taking place from the 14th of January to the 3rd of November and through the tours participants will get the opportunity to discover the history and explore the very corners of the city of Buenos Aires via a time machine.
The Historia en su Lugar tour aims to recreate the history of Buenos Aires with actors on real stages as spectators wander around the streets of the city, and will be kicking off with a show called ´Los Fantasmas de San Telmo` (the ghosts of San Telmo)which involves a tour of the district and stops in Plaza de la Victoria where actors will be demonstrating the Buenos Aires social life in XIX century, in Plaza de Mayo with ´an afternoon with Robert Arlt in Flores` that intermingles reality and literature following the footsteps of this emblematic writer, and finally ´Immigrants` in La Boca district of the city with a demonstration of the music, languages, customs and traditions that people brought to Buenos Aires Port at the close of the XIX century.
In addition, as a means of further getting to know what this great city has to offer, the Buenos Aires tourist Board will be offering free guided tours on foot all year round, and every month there will be a new and different theme calling to mind the city’s biggest attributes such as tango, theatre, architecture, and the art and history of this charming city, amongst others. Last month it was tango month so who knows what exciting things will be on offer this month. Events have yet to be confirmed but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
