The Berlin International Film Festival better known as as Berlinale takes place this year from 7-17 February 2013. So fans of the seventh art can start reserving these dates to prepare an escape to Berlin.

Just as we thought the Cirque du Soleil didn’t have any more surprises for us, the Canadian company is back to pull a new trick out of the top hat in a performance which pays tribute to Michael Jackson.

From the 10th to the 21st of October, Berlin will shine with a special kind of brightness… More than seventy monuments, streets and squares of the German capital will be seen in a new light thanks to the illuminations of the Festival of Lights 2012.

Although the Berlin Fashion Week is often considered to be second best when compared to Paris, London, New York and Rome, the event gets bigger and better every year. Having seen the programme for the Berlin Fashion Week 2012, it’s clear that the German capital is strutting its stuff to the top (and throwing a few poses along the way).

B-Parade, or “Berlin Parade” is an electronica, dance and trance music festival that is due to take place in Berlin in the summer of 2012 on the 21st July.

The Berlinale 2012, the Berlin International Film Festival is on the verge of filling the cold Berlin winter with glamour, celebrities, parties and art. The 62nd edition of the prestigious film festival will take place from the 9th to the 19th of February 2012 in the German capital.

Berlin is the world capital of electronic music. If you like German techno then the Berlin Music Days Festival (BerMuDa) is the perfect excuse for you to go on a little getaway and enjoy some of the best clubs in Berlin.

During the entire weekend of the 26th to the 28th of May, you will be able to enjoy the sound of classic cars in both cities, as well as the gleam of the sun shining on their beautiful bodywork.

The most dedicated music lovers can’t miss out on the 21st of June, and why? Because, it is World Music Day, whereby 340 cities worldwide, and 60 in Europe, go all out for an entire day in honour of this special date. However, if there is one city where music literally invades every corner, square, street and bar on this date, whether it is inside or out, then it is Berlin.
