Friday the 2nd of December
DE TAPAS – Do you feel like some tapas? 39 bars and restaurants in Barcelona will be participating in the 4th edition of this competition. Small, delicious, original and innovative tapas are on offer to surprise your palette: Bombas (breaded ball of mashed potato) filled with camembert and foie, mini venison burgers with mango chutney and piperrada (fried tomato, pepper and onion) with ham…. And the rest we’ll tell you about on Monday! Where: different bars and restaurants. When: Up until the 4th of December. Price:2,40 euro per tapa + a beer.
CINEMA AFRICA – After bringing the best productions from Africa for over 16 years to screens in cities, Muestra de Cine Africano de Barcelona will be celebrating its final edition with feature length and short films allowing viewers to discover how the Arab Spring came about, the reality of African women today and what it’s like to return to your native land. Where: Cines Girona (C/ Girona, 175). When: Up until the 4th of December. Price: 5 euro the session, 20 euro pass for the 5 sessions on offer.
Saturday the 3rd of December
AUTO RETRO – ¡Broom broooom! The Internation Car Show is coming to Barcelona. Classic cars, and historical and rare vehicles such as the 1964 Sedan Mustang and the 1957 “Bichibi” micro car will feature. There will more than 200 exhibitors with a focus on SEAT and Nissan. Where: Fira de Barcelona. (Av. Maria Cristina. Montjuïc). When: From the 3rd to the 6th of December at 10am to 8pm. Price: 15€, from 8 to 14 years 5€, under 7s.
ANNIVERSARY BRICK LANE BCN – Congratulations! The coolest vintage market in Barcelona is celebrating its first anniversary. They will be celebrating by organising a market that promises to be very special with mountains of vintage items including clothing, bags, shows, neck scarves and accessories, etc. And after the shopping comes the party with drinks and DJs from London and Barcelona. Where: Caleidoscopio (Passatge Escudellers, 5). When: From 2pm to 10pm. Price: 1 euro street market and 5 euro the party.
BARCELONA DEGUSTA – If you’re an authentic gourmet and tapas wasn’t quiet enough then this weekend you’re in luck. In the Barcelona Desgusta Fair you will find more than 100 exhibitors with organic products, delicatessen and innovative food such as fuet (blood sausage) with beer. There will also be workshops, food conferences and famous chefs making special dishes. Where: Fira de Barcelona (Av. Maria Cristina. Montjuïc). When: Up until the 4th of December. Price:12 euro (includes 4 tickets for taste testing).
Sunday the 4th of December
GUARRY MEN SHOW – How do you fancy a laugh? Fun gags, music, a stream of humour, a touch of madness and lots of laughs are the ingredients for this unusual event. Head down to the theatre, enjoy the show and as you leave, pay what you think the show deserves. We advise you to book in advance. Where: Club Capitol (Ramblas, 138). When: Up until the 18th of December at 10:30pm. Price: Pay what you think is suitable when you leave.
IMPRESSIONISTS – The masterpieces of the Clark French painting collection are now in Barcelona. Renoir, Manet, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Pizarro, Sisley…A total of 72 paintings ranging from landcapes and portraits to still lifes, etc. will be on show. Discover the world at the end of the 19th century through the eyes of these brushes. Where: CaixaForum (Av. Francesc Ferrer Guàrdia, 6). When: Up until the 12th of February 2012. Monday to Friday from 10am to 8pm. Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays from 10am to 9pm. Price: Free.
