Friday the 21st of October
ART BATTLES – Following a year’s tour around Europe, the art battles have finally arrived in Barcelona. Eight New York and national street artists will be facing up to a huge blank canvas during this live art final. A theme and an hour and a half to paint. Markers, painting, graffiti, hip-hop and live performances. Where: C.C. La Maquinista (Paseo Potosí, 2). When: From the 21st of October to the 5th of November. Price: Free.
ESCENA POBLENOU – This multidisciplinary festival of contemporary creativity featuring music, dance and theatre in the way of innovative shows, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. There will also be workshops and an anniversary celebration. Where: Different venues across the city. When: Up until Monday the 5th of October. Price: 5 euro and free shows on the street.

JAZZ FESTIVAL – Jazz has returned to add music to the pleasant evenings in Barcelona with an impressive line up gathering national and international artists in the Catalan capital. Over the weekend you will be able to enjoy performances by Carles Bellot Quartet, Neil Cowley Trio, Josep Maria Farràs Trio and Voices. Where: Different venues across the city. CIRCUITO FUTURA – This refers to the programme of projections on offer by Artfutura. More than eight hours of audiovisual pieces, documentaries and 3D animations from last year feature. A peek into the future through digital technology. Where: CCCB (Montalegre,5). When: Friday the 21st to Sunday the 23rd of October. Price: Free.
Saturday the 22nd of October
PHOTOGRAPH STREET MARKET – Cheeeeeeeeeeeese! All fans of photography should head down to this market where you can buy, exchange or sell any object related to the world of photography: Lens, cameras, vintage photo frames, photo albums….and everything else you can think of. Where: Librería Kowasa (C/ Mallorca, 235).When: 11am-6pm. Price: Free.

OPEN HOUSE – 155 iconic buildings in Barcelona that are usually closed off to the public, will open their doors so you can discover all their secrets. Architects, interior designers and experts will be accompanying you throughout your visit so that you don’t miss out on the slightest detail. Where: Different venues across the city. When: Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd of October. Price: Free.
INDIESPOT DJ’s – Did you say you were going out for a few drinks at a video club? In this venue, you can rent DVD’s, watch films and have a good Gin & Tonic. In the party taking place this Saturday they will be blasting out lots of Indie tunes. Where: Deuvedes (C/ Martinez de la Rosa, 71). When: From 11:30pm. Price: Free.
BARCELONETA HIP HOP FESTIVAL – First edition of this festival in which hip hop and neighbourhood rap will be taking centre stage all night, with performances by At Versaris, Poker d’Asos, Arrap and many more. Where: plaza de la Barceloneta. When: From 7pm to 12am. Price: Free.
RIBERMÚSICA – An autumn festival focusing on music and which will be offering free activities for all, as well as concerts on iconic stages such as that of the Santa Maria del Mar and the palaces on Calle Montcada. Where: different venues across the Ribera district. When: Up until the 23rd of October. Price: Free.

Sunday the 23rd of October
FESTA DELS SUPERS – Two days of music, games, workshops and activities for the little ones. All the characters from Club Súper 3 will be there, as well as the Bicitrial world Champion Dani Comas and other teen idols. Where: Estadio Olympic Stadium (Montjuïc). When: Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd of October from 10am. Price: Free.
BIG DRAW – Lets all draw something! The Picasso Museum is organising a huge drawing party with workshops for all ages. Let your imagination run away and create your own masterpieces. Where: different venues across Barcelona. When: From 11am to 6pm. Price: Free.
MERCAT DE MERCATS – Barcelona markets take to the street to offer meat, fruit, blood sausages and other Catalan products. Bars and restaurants will be offering samples of tapas that you can try accompanied by wines and cavas. There will also be food workshops, taste tasting, talks, human towers, Catalan dances. Where: Avenida de la Catedral and Avenida Francesc Cambó. When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10am to 8pm. Price: Free.
