Halloween is just around the corner, and it is a holiday that is celebrated on the 31st of October all over the world whether you call it the “Day of the Dead” in South America or “All Saints Day” in Spain. The internationalisation of the American culture has led to the expansion of their traditions of this event, thus today many countries celebrate Halloween as if we were in the United States as well.

In Barcelona, this tradition is also becoming entrenched in the Catalan culture thanks to Anglo-Saxon tourists, and although it is not celebrated on the same level as in the United States, there are an increasing number of Halloween parties and costumes every year. In the event that you would like to go to one of these parties, whether it’s a public or private one, going in a suitable costume is a must and if you’re new in town then you probably won’t know where to go to find your ideal costume for terrifying people. Thus, here is a list of the most well-known shops in Barcelona where you are sure to find the perfect costume and accessories to make you feel at your scariest this Halloween night.

One of the most well-known shops is the Party Fiesta, and with more than 10,000 party articles on offer, you are guaranteed to find all you need for a perfect Halloween whether its pumpkins, witches, spiderwebs, scarecrows, black cats, or special makeup. You will find the Party Fiesta shop at the following addresses; C/Pintor Fortuny 6 (in Raval), on Avenida Gran Gran Vía 75-79, on Avenida Diagonal 288, and in C/Josep Pla, 31, amongst many other places dotted around the city.

Another option is Menkes located on Gran Vía 642, a shop that has been providing all kinds of costumes for over 50 years, and which over the years has started specialising in Halloween costumes as well. Situated quite close to the Party Fiesta is La Bolsera located on D'En Xuclá 15 (in Raval), where not only do they specialise in packaging, paper and plastic bags, and boxes, but they also have a catalogue of things ranging from special balls, party goods, costumes, and Halloween and Christmas decorations. They have such a vast amount of articles on offer that you are sure to leave with all that you need to complete your perfect costume whether you are dressing up as a witch, zombie, mummy, Dracula, or anything else that you can think of.

If not, then make your way down to the Relàmpago on Torrent de L'Olla 115, where similarly to the previous shops mentioned you will find all that you want and more for your party. Furthermore, on the same street you will find Gotic Maquillatges, a shop that has been specialising in the manufacture and importation of make up since 1931. There you can buy all you want to achieve the look you need, whether you are dressing up as a monster, or the scariest person you can imagine.

Another option is the shop Vilemes situated on C/Casanova 29, in Eixample, where their excellent merchandise has gained them a large number of loyal clients that trust them to choose the perfect costume whether it’s for babies, children, or adults, and whether it’s for Christmas, or Halloween, etc.

Halloween Parties in Barcelona

We have only mentioned a small number of the shops in Barcelona where you can find costumes, make up, and accessories for decorating your home if what you want to do is have a private Halloween party, or go dressed up to a Halloween party or event. There will be an abundance of private parties going in Barcelona, although maybe the most well-known party will be taking place in the Razzmatazz concert hall on Halloween night itself, with the best DJs and the most terrifying entertainment, as well as the pre-Halloween party that will be celebrated on Wednesday the 27th of October comprising the Dirty Dancing Pre-Halloween Party, with the slogan “All the hits you can imagine mixed all together!”, so it is 100% guaranteed that your skeleton will be shimmying to the beat of the best music in Razzmatazz.
