Tracey’s reasons for being our Friendly Rentals Official Fan and ambassador won us over, so we invited the lady herself to Barcelona where we spoilt her rotten for her efforts, and asked her why she likes Friendly Rentals. Here’s what she had to say;
Why do you like Friendly Rentals?
The reason I like Friendly Rentals is because the quality and the standard is very high, they always have everything that you need, and any that I’ve stayed in have been so central. You can walk to anywhere that you want to go to.
With regards to the service, I’ve found that the website, when you book, is always very easy to follow, and understand because with some other hotels you think ´I’ve clicked, and I’ve paid for something but is that actually booked?`, with Friendly Rentals I’ve always found that they’re always very with it, you get an email straight away confirming how you get there etc. and I think that side of the service is very professional. Also, if you have questions, and you email ´Can I have this or do that`, I find that side of the service good as well.
When you go on holiday, why is it better to rent one of our apartments than stay in a hotel?
I would tend to stay in an apartment because you get a better view of the city. You don’t get a local view until you’ve been a lot of times to a city, but you get more of a local view I think than when you’re staying in a hotel. You might as well be at home when you stay in a hotel because everything’s done for you, and I think when you stay in an apartment you have to kind of look up the guidebook, and use the map, and find the nice places to eat, and I think that’s part of the experience of staying in a city, having a walk around and finding your bearings. You have to find where the nearest little supermarket is, and where there’s a nice little bar for a good coffee and that’s nice, so it’s quite nice just to have a little different perspective. Plus, apart from the freedom of being able to explore the city on your own, you don’t feel that you’re staying in someone’s house, you feel like it’s your own home when you’re away and that’s really nice. You can leave your bed unmade, and leave it messy, and it doesn’t matter as long as you look after it. It’s a nice relaxing experience.
What would you improve about Friendly Rentals?
I thought would be quite nice when we arrived to have even like tea/coffee/milk, just like a small few things, because I think when we arrived the last time, we arrived quite late at night and we didn’t have water, and we didn’t have tea/coffee. It’s not a big deal because there’s a supermarket across the street but if you’d had a really horrible journey etc. then when you arrive you think ´I’d love a cup of tea` but you can’t. But, I think in terms of the service and the standard of the apartment, the apartments are fantastic, they’re better than your house, they’re lovely. They’re clean, and the bathrooms are always gorgeous, really nothing to complain about.
How do you feel about being our Official Fan?
It’s surprising because I didn’t expect the flowers/champagne/cake, which was lovely. It’s really nice, and I’m proud. I did well in the competition to be chosen.
What are you going to do to continue promoting Friendly Rentals?
I’m always telling people (family/friends) to stay in Friendly Rentals apartments, if they’re going to any of the cities that I know of that you have places, I’m always telling them look up Friendly Rentals because you’ll get a really good deal. I think that’s another thing. I think the prices are very, very good. The last time I came to Barcelona with friends we checked out some hotels and the apartments just worked out much better value. I had already mentioned on Facebook quite a lot that I was coming here as well, and that it was going to be courtesy of Friendly Rentals so that way I would say to people.
