Things to do this weekend in Barcelona
This weekend promises to be an interesting one as here in Barcelona, it is also a bank holiday weekend. Thus, there’s lots of fun to be had and take advantage of. Here are this week’s suggestions!
Friday the 10th of June
CASA ASIA FILM WEEK: Drama, martial arts, comedy, science fiction, Bollywood….This festival, which aims to screen films from the Asian continent, has everything and will be screening the best films released over the last two years, in addition to a retrospective of Ann Hui. When: Until Sunday the 12th of June, from 4pm to 22:30pm. Where: Cinemes Girona (175, Calle Girona). Price: General admission 7 euro, concessions 6 euro, marathon 12 euro.
CELTIC LEGENDS: This hit Celtic music and dance show, which has achieved international success, has come to Barcelona. With the combination of ancient beats, spontaneous tap dancing, energetic music and pastoral ballads, you will get a taste of authentic Irish folklore.When: Until the 19th of June Where: Apolo Theatre (51-96, Avenida Paral·lel). Saturday the 11th of June
LA GOOD SHIT: Complete chaos with Los Guacamole Kids who will be living it up at the KGB Club and churning out a constant array of hits ranging from electro, rock, indie, pop, funk, 90s tunes and everything else you can think of. If you’re heading to this party, you’re guaranteed to dance until you drop.When: Saturday the 11th of June, from 12am to 5am. Where: KGB Club (55, Calle Alegre d’Alt). Entrance fee: 10 euro entrance with a drink included until 2:30am.
ILU·STATION: The third edition of this independent illustration and design festival has taken over the streets of Barcelona with exhibitions, concerts, workshops and markets. This year’s edition will be shining the spotlight on self-published books, comics and fanzines. Make sure you don’t miss out!When: Until Sunday. Where: Various locations across the city. Price: Free.
Sunday the 12th of June

CINE MUDO, A RITMO DE JAZZ: Featuring an authentic journey through time! Enjoy cinema the way it was at the very beginning in this original event with Buster Keaton, Charles Chaplin, Snub Pollard…A unique opportunity to laugh at the best silent comedy films, brilliantly accompanied by Josep Borras on the piano. SMELL COLOUR: This exhibition presents an original and unusual way of presenting art through smell. The 88 works put on display have been selected on the basis of olfactory criteria. Each colour represents an “olfactory note” on the Pantone scale of smells. When: From the 8th of June to the 25th of September. Where: Arts Santa Mónica (7, Las Ramblas). Price: Free.
