We continue with our initiative to give voice to the most prominent bloggers in the world of tourism and travel. On this occasion we have the pleasure of interviewing Marc Serena, in whose specialized blog provides us with very useful and current information on his experience around the world.
1) Biography
“La vuelta de los 25” is a project that began in 2008 when the journalist Marc Serena turned 25. He decided to travel around the world and interact with 25 year olds from 25 different countries worldwide. Through his blog he tells us of his adventures and it has been recognized by Lonely Planet as the best travel Web in a foreign Language as well as winning the prize for the best personal blog in the Blocs Catalunya 2009.
Now he wants to share his experiences through his book. Those interested in following his adventures can do so through his Facebook group.
2) Three places not to miss in Barcelona
- Quimet & Quimet
At first sight it looks more like a warehouse. But actually this is the best place to eat tapas in Barcelona. You have to eat standing up, and there is no menu available. The fact that it is always crowded is a proof of its success.
- Carrer Blai
In the midst of Poble Sec, near the Quimet & Quimet. A small street that cannot be found on many tourist routes but is full of beautiful corners. Cesk Freixas, the singer has dedicated a lovely song to this street, when he sings it is the Rambla ... of Poble Sec
- The Agbar Tower
It is excessive, unreasonable and hallucinogenic. But with time it actually become very appealing! How did it occur to anyone to place such a huge suppository in Glorias? Every New Years Eve it changes its colours, which is amazing!
3) Your secret corner
The German Pavilion in Barcelona
Although situated next to the crowded Montjuïc Fountains nobody remembers this building, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe to be the National German pavilion for the Barcelona International Exhibition in 1929.
