Interview with travel blogger Eduardo from Hombrelobo

We have been carrying out an increasing number of interviews with the top bloggers on the web who have been giving their best advice on the city of Barcelona, especially on places that any confused traveller wouldn’t notice if it weren’t for the wise suggestions that these bloggers make. As we always like to help you in your wanderings around the streets of Barcelona, we suggest you read the interview that we carried out with the blogger Eduardo from Hombrelobo, a specialised blog on travelling from a multimedia perspective, with numerous videos, but well, we’ll let him explain….

1. Who are you/what do you do?

My name is Eduardo. I’ve lived in Bilbao, Tarragona, Gante (Belgium), Buenos Aires, Houston, and Singapore over the years. I’ve spent many years as an immigrant, and enjoying and suffering what that status entails.

Five year ago I started my travel blog Hombrelobo and I started to record the places that I travelled to whether it was for work or pleasure. The idea was to reflect what I saw, record what travelling is, not travel to record. I currently have more than 800 short videos of 30 different countries, and counting…

2. My Barcelona top 3

The Ramblas, Paseo de Gracia and the Gothic district. I know these places are really typical, but without doubt the Ramblas is the place to be in Barcelona. Morning, noon, and night….. The Ramblas is where it is all happening, where we have the best and the worst things.

In fact, the Ramblas is one of those places where you are going to see Humanity, its importance and society similar to what you would find in calle Florida in Buenos Aires or Shibuya in Tokyo, one of those places where you can feel like you’re in the centre of the universe.

3. Your secret place in BCN?

Freiduria de Pauli, although not one of the best places to eat seafood in a really informal way. A few feet away on calle Mandri, there are also several bars that do some nice but simple food.

So, now you know, if you would like to discover humanity and feel you’re in the centre of the universe in a street similar to the Buenos Aires calle de Florida or Shibuya in Tokyo make sure you pass by the Ramblas, amongst other places. Cheers for your advice Eduardo!
