In our zeal to give voice to the most
prominent bloggers in the world of travel and tourism, we keep on publishing
interviews where the travel bloggers have the opportunity to share with us their most
interesting places in Barcelona.
This week we have the chance to interview one of the most intrepid bloggers in
the Internet, the Uruguayan Diego Pons.
1) Biography
Diego Pons is Uruguayan. He was born in the
mid-60s, and for as long as he can remember, he has always carried a backpack
on hi shoulders, because he has constantly been travelling all around the
world. In the early 80s he landed in Madrid
to stay. He is a travel and music lover; as such he spends most of his time
focused on these passions. On the other hand, in his Videoblog, Viajando con Diego (Travelling with Diego), he gives free rein to his love to adventure.
This video blog is aimed at people of all
ages and tastes who seek different options to travel guides when they want to
get information on tourist destinations and leisure activities. Far from the
traditional style of the documentary, the videos use the language of the new
audiovisual media and are characterized by their agility. Each trip is like a
music video that summarizes the most attractive destinations in less than five
minutes.
2) Three places not to miss in Barcelona
Boqueria Market: mandatory stop to have a
fruit smoothie and to buy some nuts to keep on walking down the Ramblas.
The Barceloneta beach is the ideal place to
spend a nice day of sun and sand and to see the funniest people ever,
regardless of a Rastafarian or an athlete. They all coexist without a problem
at all, in a melting pot full of local colour.
Obviously, the Sagrada Familia could not be
missing, since this construction is arguably the most impressive building in Spain: a hallucinatory
architecture style. I remember perfectly the first time I saw it, I couldn’t believe that there existed such a
peculiar and unique work, since there is nothing similar in the whole world ... Gaudi’s talent was
amazing ... I can only say ... awesome.
3) Your secret corner
A corner situated in the Park Guell, where
I head to and sit down every time I want to think on how Gaudi’s life should have been.
What a pity not having the opportunity to known him, because he would have been
one of my favourite Catalans ;-))
