New theatre in Barcelona, the Atrium

Barcelona can boast of having an abundance of theatres for all kinds of cultural events and activities, and as of this week, it can boast of having yet another one. We are referring to the Atrium which is the foundation of the ATRIUM project and which has been created with the aim of sharing scenic art related works.
Atrium will be opening with the production Huit Clos – A porta tancanda (No Exit), directed by Ramon Molin one of the founders of Atrium. This production which is based on the book by Jean-Paul Sartre bearing the same name, and which will be shown from the 26th of January to the 27th of February, three very different characters and whom are forced to confront their individual destinies by a twist of fate which gives rise to a confusing and dialectical situation characteristic of the author. Thus, Garcin, Inés and Estelle, a doubtful journalist, a proletariat lesbian, and a young woman married to an old man heartlessly enter into the game whereby the condemning looks from each other and their actions are inescapable.
In addition, the Atrium will has a permanent group of musicians, who aim is to accompany the performances of the resident company in the theatre, thus creating a form of cohesion between the different disciplines that co-exist in the theatre.
