Just like
every weekend, we have some of the top events currently going on in Barcelona, so without
further ado here are our suggestions for this weekend in the Catalan capital.

Friday the 11th of February
ANIMAC 2011. Presentation of the new films and surprises that await us in the 15th
edition of ANIMAC, which is being held in the neighbouring town of Lleida from
the 24th to the 27th of February. From 7.30pm the
director of the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia will be
presenting new films and revealing the surprises in store for the audience this
year. She will be joined by Syd Garon, animation director of N.A.S.A. “The
Spirit of Apollo” who will be filling us in on the evolution of the project. Where: CCCB (5, Calle Montalegre). When: at

BARCELONA VISUAL SOUND. Audiovisual creation has been set up in 8 different locations in
the city with some 50 free activities through which creators and young artists
can show off their work. When: 8th to the 18th of
February. Where: Espai Jove La
Fontana, Punt multimedia – Casa del Mig, Espai Jove de
l’Eixample; Golferichs – Eines Multimedia, Espai Jove Garcilaso, Centre Civic

SAINT EULALIA FESTIVAL. Popular culture with shows, parades, dancing giants, fire
runs and human towers, as well as chocolate tasting events, music concerts,
circus, dance acts and breakers that will fill Raval and the Gothic district.

Saturday the 12th of February
MINI-NIGHT.
They are inviting you take a trip back to the sixties during an evening
dedicated to the Mini Cooper, and where you will be able to enjoy a cinema
screening which will be projected onto the museum exterior, just like they did
in the good old days. Where: Fundación Miró (Parc de Montjuïc s/n). When: from
6:30pm (meeting and free entrance to the exhibition (Let us FACE the future. British
Art 1945-1968), and from 7.30pm drive-in cinema taking place outside the
foundation with priority to those in minis, although classics from the 60s will
also be allowed access. Price: Free
HURTS in
concert. The Apolo concert halls is hosting the synth-pop revelation duo from
last year, that solely with their album “Happiness” caused a sensation thanks
to tracks such as “Better than love” and their collaboration with Kylie Minogue
in “Devotion”, that will definitely make fans of hardcore pop tunes dance.

THE SCRIPT
in concert. Irish group who caught the attention of critics and the public
alike, and who have enjoyed spectacular success thanks to their single “The man
who can’t be moved”, a song with a fresh and vital sound that also features in
their new album “Science and Faith”. Where:Razzmatazz concert halls. When:

Sunday the 13th of February
SPOOKY CINEMA 9. Screenings of the most entertaining class B horror films have
returned and for this year’s edition Special Vermiform Horror will be taking
centre stage, thus worms and slugs will be the stars of the screenings of this
evening’s film event. The top films
lined up are “Slugs, muerte vicosa” and “Squirm, gusanos asesinos”. Where:
