A giant crochet wasp in the Queen’s chambers? Kalediscopic flowers made out of irons growing on the patio? A chandelier made from tampons in the palace rooms? Well yes. All this and much more can be seen at Joana Vasconcelos exhibition in the Palacio da Ajuda in Lisbon.

In Salamanca art manifests itself in many diverse forms, from the sculptures cut into the old stones of the buildings, to the wine and ham which is served in the bars. But in this city full history and students there is a place for modern art.

“Brueghel, Wonders of Flemish Art” is one of the most eagerly awaited exhibitions in Rome this year. Dedicated to the celebrated dynasty of artists, this exceptional exhibition allows some of the finest pieces of art from the Flemish Golden Age to be seen in the Italian Capital. The exhibition will be in the Chiostro del Bramante until the 2nd of June 2013.

Born in Groot-Zundert in 1853, Vincent Van Gogh was an artist who never received recognition for his work whilst he was alive, in fact it is said he only managed to sell one of his paintings. The Malagan artist always wanted his works to be exhibitied in his home city, but despite the fact that procedures began in 1953, the museum didn’t become reality until much after his death.
