Get a taste of an artist-painter's lifestyle in the heart of Alfama.
Nestled in a tiny street next to what, in times gone by, was the first university in Portugal, the Oliveirinha boasts the incredible privilege of having a cosy little garden; a true, green treasure. Here you can feel the pounding and the ambience of the soul of this popular Lisbon district while sharing the house with a working artist who also places his studio at your disposal. In short, don't hesitate to lose yourself in the labyrinthine streets of Alfama, but hurry back to enjoy the coolness of the little garden, or the view from the terrace. The apartment :
From the moment of entry one can't help noticing the creative flair of the property owner. There is a large, colourful painting on the wall, painted wooden floors, and beautiful antique doors which have been preserved and repainted. The Oliveirinha offers an environment full of charm, with a mix of subtle styles, some of which are sometimes explosive but always are in good taste. Allying ceramics from famous Bordalo Pinheiro, with antique tiles, along with exclusive artistic pieces such as the lamps, or even the desk and the rocking armchair by Ray&Charles Eames: everything has been thought out to make your stay feel fantastic and truly special.
The bathroom is simple, with a shower, and the compact kitchen corner adjoining the living area opens directly onto the small garden, where you can enjoy some moments of rest after a days’ walk in the city. The owner also grants you access to an upstairs terrace with a magnificent view of the Tagus river.
This will no doubt be an unforgettably charming stay for you!
