This wonderful apartment in the heart of the Eixample, comes with two large terraces which have great views of the city; with plenty of natural light coming through the various large windows and sliding doors that lead onto the terrace, making this apartment a great choice for your visit to Barcelona.
Las Terrazas apartment is a quieter choice of apartment, as it is not in the heart of the ciutat vella but still centraly located so that the guest is not far from the action of La Rambla, Plaza Cataluña, El Borne or the Gothic Quarter.....
The area surrounding the apartment:
The area surrounding Las Terrazas apartment is known as the Eixample district, the birthplace of the Modernism movement, home to the wonderful works of Antoni Gaudí. When looking to experience Barcelona's world renowned reputation for architecture, this area is king.
The famous and impressive Sagrada Familia, Gaudí's La Pedrera and Casa Batlló in the Manzana de la Discordia and the sprawling Hospital de la Santa Creu in Sant Pau -are all within walking distance.
The Gràcia neighbourhood, which is at walking distance too, takes you into an entirely diferent world. Gràcia has a very special and unique character that lies somewhere between a bohemian artsy enclave and the latest cutting-edge trends with a lively and vibrant atmosphere; a popular spot for both nocturnal and daytime leisure activities with unique bars and restaurants and houses featuring outstanding examples of Catalan art-noveau architecture, such as Gaudi''s Casa Vicens and Domènech i Montaners's Casa Fuster.
Walking time to the metro station closest is only 3 minutes; the stop is Sagrada Familia and you can take the blue line (L5) or the purple line (L2). You can also take one of many buses that stop across the street from the apartment; these bus lines will leave you at the heart of old Barcelona (Plaça catalunya, El Borne, The Gothic Quarter, Port Vell... ) in less than 20 minutes. The Barcelona Tourist Bus stops on the same street as the building; you can take it to visit Park Güell and any other places of touristic interest in Barcelona..
The apartment:
The Terrazas apartment has lots of natural light as can be seen in the photos above, making it a lovely, bright and sunny choice for your visit to Barcelona. A great feature of this apartment are the spacious and very nice private terraces that are for the sole use of the guests, a real treat in the heart of the Eixample area. The guests can use these terraces, particularily during the hot summer months, as the chill out area after a long day of soaking up all the fabulous sites Barcelona has to offer, or to enjoy a fabulous "penedes" wine before heading out to one of the many fantastic restaurants that can be found all over Barcelona... from these wonderful terraces you can see the Tibidabo and Montjuic mountains or you can sit and gaze at the Sagrada Familia with views of the sea behind....
The apartment has three bedrooms, two of which have a double bed and the other bedroom has a single bed each. Each bedroom comes with wardrobe space for the guests belongings. The main bedroom looks onto the one of the lovely terraces, which can be accessed through the living/dining area of the apartment. This area can be used as a place to chill out or to catch a movie on the DVD.... the dining area has a table and chairs should the guest choose to prepare a meal at some point during the stay..
The kitchen is modern and fresh in look and comes with all the usual mod cons to ensure that the guest has a hassle fee stay at this apartment.
The bathroom comes with a bath/shower unit and with fresh towels ready for use upon arrival; it has lots of natural light as the window is in the ceiling and the light pours in ...
This great apartment is located on the 9th floor of the building and comes with elevator so the guest need not worry about traipsing up and down the stairs!!! Actually there are two elevators in this building... Las Terrazas comes with WIRELESS internet connection and A/C in the living area...

Barcelona´s 19th century Eixample district is the birthplace of the Modernism movement where Antoni Gaudi is considered the leader. When looking to experience Barcelona´s world renowned reputation for leading 19th century architecture, this area is king. With all the Gaudi sites within reach like the grand and impressive famous Sagrada familia, the two famous Gaudi houses of La Perdera and Manzana de la Discordia, the sprawling Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, you´ll spend hours rambling along and looking upwards. This grid-patterned area was created in the 19th century to accommodate the overflowing population from old Barcelona; luckily this coincided with Barcelona’s golden age of architecture.. The Eixample district is divided in two, the Eixample Dreta (right side) and Eixample Esquerra (left side), this divide is marked by Passeig de Gracia, a highly sophisticated shopping street…..
A large part of the Eixample’s attraction includes all the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars to be found… Passeig de Gracias alone will keep any visitor entertained for hours, but all the side streets are full of great stores, theatres, cafes with people everywhere, shopping, relaxing and enjoying an aperitif with friends and family…

This area of the Eixample came first and is full of fabulous Modernista works, such as Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, Puig I Cadafalch’s Casa Amatller and Domènech i Muntaner`s Lleó Morera famously referred to as the Manzana de la Discordia…..
To the east of the city centre we can find another massive, towering example of Gaudí’s creativity, the Sagrada Familia; still under construction and will most likely continue to be so for a long time to come … it is full of symbolism and meaning. This amazing creation never disappoints as visitors to Barcelona are awed by it’s imagery and beauty time and time again….
One building which also warrants a mention is the Hospital de Sant Pau, still a functioning hospital to this day and it is probably the most complex example of Modernist architecture….
The Eixmaple dreta is rife with museums such as Fundavió Antoni Tàpies, Museo Egipci de Barcelona and the Fundació Francisco Goddia;
Other buildings of interest include the Palau Macaya, the tiled Mercat de la Concepció, the egg-topped Plaçá de Braus Monumantal and Barcelona’s last active bullring ….
