The Area surrounding the Apartment;
This wonderful, luxury apartment is in the very heart of the city, almost on Paseo de Gracia, one of Barcelona's grander avenue-like streets, that starts at Plaza Cataluña and continues till it meets with la Diagonal.
This location will allow the guest to step out of the apartment building onto Plaza Cataluña; off of this Plaza the guest will find Las Ramblas, with all the colourful street performes and the wonderful Boqueria market, an absolute must for any visitor to Barcelona...
From the apartment a short 5 minute walk will have you in the heart of the Gothic Quarter and el Born; this very trendy area is one of Barcelona's oldest neighbourhoods. An intricate maze of plaças and squares all interconnected by narrow, medieval streets where you will find lots of trendy boutiques and great bars, cafés and restaurants. This is the area that fell within the medieval walls and, until 150 years ago, made up the entire city of Barcelona.
With bars, clubs and hundreds of restaurants right on the doorstep of the apartment, you do not need to go far to enjoy all that the old town of Barcelona has to offer.

The Apartment;
This really is a fantastic apartment; with unbeatable location, high standard and quality, this is a fantastic choice while visiting Barcelona... this apartment faces to the back of the building so for it's central location it is a very quiet apartment!!
The Plaza Cataluña apartment has two bedrooms; the master bedroom comes with a standard double bed and has ample wardrobe space for the guests' belongings... the second bedroom has two single beds; both bedrooms are fresh and elegant in style ...
Both bathrooms are very luxurious in look and style, completed in white marble and both have fresh towels ready for use upon arrival... the bathroom complete with bath/shower unit, WC, sink, etc., is en-suite to the main bedroom, the second bathroom is independant and comes with a very nice modern shower, WC, sink, etc....
The living room of this fantastic apartment has french doors which open up onto the small balcony/terrace, here you will find a table and some chairs so the guests can enjoy the wonderufl weather that Barcelona enjoys for much of the year; this allows for lots of natural light in the apartment making it a great area to relax and unwind after a hard day of sightseeing or shopping! before heading out to enjoy all this great city has on offer..... this sofa is also a sofa bed where two guests can sleep comfortably ...... the apartment comes with air conditioning and heating so guests are comfortable no matter what time of the year they are visiting this great city!!!

Plaza Cataluña/Paseo de Gracia
Plaza Cataluña
Catalonia Square is the largest square in the centre with 30.000 meters square it is the third biggest square in Spain. Some of the most important streets and Avenue interconnects with this important square, famous for its fountain, and statues. Until almost half of 19th century the Plaça de Catalunya was mainly a rural zone located outside the city walls.
It was only in 1858 that the Madrid's central government finally ordered the defensive walls to be torn down., approving also the construction outside the walls so a public contest was organized in search of a design of a new district. The first place was awarded to a design by Rovira i Trias but the head government ended up choosing a far more modern design with a grid plan by Ildefons Cerdà.
Eventually the local and head government agreed add a new plan. A design by the architect Puig i Cadafalch (author of the modernist building 'Casa de les Punxes') resulted in the current enormous square, created between 1925 and 1927.
Nowadays it is also a main interconnecting point, where transport is widely available, such as metro, buses, taxis, etc. And it is there that the airport bus and the touristic double decker bus have its last and first stop at Plaza Catalunya, right opposite to the famous department store, El Corte Inglés.
Passeo de Gracia
One of the most famous Avenues in Barcelona and it is a 1.50 kilometers stroll to Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas, Passeig de Gracia is the street that has the most designer shops per meter square in the whole of Barcelona. From this location, other zones of interest such as the Gothic Quarter, and the very trendy El Borne are just a stone's thrown away.
Visitors staying at this area will find the superb food and produce market called La Boqueria on Las Ramblas, an absolute must for any visitor to Barcelona and will be able to stroll along the very up market Passeig de Gracia with its designer shops and some of Gaudí's most emblematic buildings such as Casa Battló and La Pedrera which have been listed as Human Heritage buildings by the Unesco. This popular Avenue is the closest to The Champs Elysés in Paris, right here is the vibrant capital of Catalonia. The first urbanistic proyect that gave life to this amazing avenue begun back in 1821 by the famous architect Ramon Plana.
Guests are expected to have a shopping experience just waiting to happen all around you. Paseo de Gracia alone will keep you busy for hours.

We loved the location, right off the Plaza Catalunya. It was easy to get food and supplies at the El Corte Ingles across the street, and there were a number of nice coffeeshops nearby. The apartment was clean, beautifully decorated and very well equipped. We were with 5, and the living room/bedroom was very comfortable and private, thanks to the door to the room. Friendly Rentals also provided excellent service. My cousin and I called the office several times from both Holland and the U.S. The staff couldn't have been more helpful in finding the right apartment for us.

The apartment was beautiful - well decorated and very clean. It was the perfect size for the 4 of us and had every amenity. It was wonderful to have a well equipped kitchen and washer/dryer as well. The highlight was the balcony - it looked out onto the back of the apartment and was quiet. It fit 4 people comfortably and was an excellent place for breakfast and coffee in the mornings and a pre dinner glass of wine in the evenings. Have to also mention that the location is AWESOME!!! A 2 minute walk to Plaza Catalunya, metro stop, tourist bus, public buses, airport bus and (best of all) a grocery store. Literally - 2 minutes!!!
