Come in, don’t stay in the doorway...

As well as the standard tourist attractions (wine routes, golf, beaches, safaris, vivid landscapes, picturesque streets…), during spring in Cape Town you can find numerous activities to enjoy. The International Kite Festival is a great date for families, whereas those looking for something a little stronger can try the Horrorfest film festival and the Whisky Live Festival.

This week, we’re going to Amsterdam, a city which becomes a welcoming, convivial destination when autumn begins. The large tourist masses abandon the city and the canals of the north, but the temperatures are still as friendly as the visitors and locals themselves.

The apartment which we want to recommend this week is not just in the heart of Paris, but in one of the most chic zones of the city: Le Marais, one of the most cosmopolitan, bohemian districts of old Europe.

In Tarifa, southern Spain, kitesurfing (or kiteboarding, as it’s often called) is a cult pastime. Why? At Point Tarifa, the southernmost point of all of continental Europe, the calm Mediterranean rushes up to meet the voracious Atlantic, lending itself to Tarifa’s excellent kitesurfing conditions and moniker of “The Windy City”. This “Mecca of wind” has even hosted the World Kiteboard Championships.

The Althea apartment, this week’s top accommodation, is located on the River Arno in Florence, capital of Tuscany, and is perfect for two people.

So summer’s almost coming to an end, and there’s just time to squeeze out those final drops of sunshine before we head Back To School and the world turns grey again.
